I was in a forum earlier and some British guy there was making jokes about the seal hunt and said "So I assume a seal's favourite drink would be a Canadian club on the rocks!"
I knew I had to think real quick so I said
No! a dead Beatle on ice. (as in Paul McCartney)
The Brits I find are in no position to critique "The seal Hunt" I told him to look back through his own history if what he wanted to find was cruelty. Plenty there and I was speaking of human slaughter. I despise the English and what they did not just To Newfoundland but to people all over the world. The harp seal is not an endangered species and that is the one thing that most of the world don't know.

Hi Roderick,

I apologize for the late reply. One thing you can point out to the British is the fact that they, on a per capita basis, have a seal hunt much larger than the Canadian hunt. In fact there are many European nations which have a seal hunt, with kill rates in relation to overall population, larger or on par with the Canadian hunt. With any hunt one of the paramount goals must be sustainability and in regards to this Canada is taking a much more precautionary approach.

Cheers,
Mike
Dear Mike
I just spent almost 8 hours reading the hate mails and would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful educated and obvious knowledge you have on this subject. John and Ed were wonderfully entertaining in their dreams of trying to nail you on a subject which was obviously something they knew "Nada" about. This was like a great book or I could go so far in saying a great debate of The Seal Hunt. You have so cleverly done your homework on this topic and as a fellow Newfoundlander I commend you. Tomorrow I will spend another 8 hours of entertainment on your site and watch you as you dethrone the ignorant the arrogant and the misinformed. Funny how John kept up the computer argument knowing full well that his computer skills were not quite up to par. Being a computer geek if you have questions on networking or how do I... please do not hesitate to contact me for advice and help. Geez Mike "I'm your number 1 fan."

Hi Roderick,

I'm glad you found the information helpful and the banter entertaining. The one thing I have found to be fairly consistent with those who fight against the seal hunt is a complete lack of knowledge of the issue, even at a base level. In light of this, many try to discredit me via any way possible whether it be my location, how I organize material on the Website or my physical dimensions of which they don't have any idea about. To sum up these attacks I would have to say they are little more than groping and childish to say the least. I guess when one shows up to a fight completely unprepared and disarmed then one has to use any dirty trick they can. In essence and in my opinion, this is a direct representation of most of the groups which fight the hunt, they are limited to little more than parlour tricks and slight-of-hand type tactics.

Cheers,
Mike
